Born April 5th, in Tokyo, Japan.

1952-71

Infant, primary and secondary schooling at the State Teaching University, Tokyo, Final examinations.

1971-75

Study of conducting at the TOHO-GAKUEN Conservatorium under Prof. SAITO and Prof. SEIJI OZAWA; final diploma awarded summa cum laude.

1975

Winner of the HANS HARING AWARD at the conducting competition of the Austrian Broadcasting Network in SALZBURG.

1975-76

Guest observer at the Deutsche Staatsoper Unter den Linden, BERLIN.

1976-78

Repetiteur at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, DÜSSELDORF.

1978-81

Solo-Repetiteur and Conductor at the Musiktheater im Revier, GELSENKIRCHEN.

1981-85

Chief-Repetiteur and Conductor at the WÜRZBURG Municipal Theater.

1985-89

First Conductor and Deputy General Music Director at the MÜNSTER  Municipal Opera Company, including the direction and performance of the Münster Symphony Orchestra's subscription concerts on a regular basis.

1989-96

First Conductor at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, DÜSSELDORF.

1991-95

(concurrently) Principal Conductor of the South Westphalian  Philharmonic Orchestra, the official orchestra of the State of  North Rhine-Westphalia, based in Hilchenbach (SIEGEN-Wittgenstein).

1996-2001

General Music Director at the COBURG State Opera Company, including the direction and performance of the Coburg Symphony Orchestra's subscription concerts.

Sep. 2000

Japan Debut at the Japan Metropolitan Opera with New Production of  “The flying Dutchman” (R.Wagner).

May 2002

Debut at the New National Theatre Tokyo with New Production of “Salome” (R.Strauss).

Dec.

New Production of “Ariadne auf Naxos” (R.Strauss) at the New National Theatre Tokyo.
